Child Protective Services (CPS) – Baltimore County

A state program, run by DSS, that offers services to children, up till age 18, who are at risk of abuse, neglect, or exploitation. State law mandates that, promptly after receiving a report of suspected child abuse or neglect, DSS and/or law enforcement must make a thorough investigation. Based on the findings, DSS will provide the appropriate services with the goal being to ensure the immediate protection of the child from serious harm and to render the services to parents or caretakers which will enable them to provide at least the essentials of care for the child in a safe environment.
